Chinese new year
Kung Hei Fat Choi is how you wish people a happy new year in China. You might hear this saying all around the world because there are lots of Chinese people and Communities in different places. Chinese people have celebrated this very old tradition for fifteen days every year for a very very long time.
A long time ago a monster liked to scare people every year. The people were very afraid of the dragon so the people wore red and lit fireworks and played drums to make noises to scare the dragon away.
In the Chinese New Year they use the colours red and gold. Red represents good luck,and gold represents wealth.
Chinese new year ends with a lantern festival and parade led by the dancing dragons and lions. Chinese people do these dances because they are recreating and telling stories.
Today i have learnt about the Chinese new year is a festival celebrated
